Panasonic battery don't fit?

#1 Post by newbie1983 » Sat Oct 21, 2006 6:11 pm

Hi all, just received my replacement battery today and found out that it's a panasonic. All seems well till I tried putting it into my thinkpad. Obviously, panasonic batteries don't fit as well as the sony ones do. Anyone has any idea on the best way to resolve this? Or how about the sanyo batteries? Do they fit snugly? I just think that all battery suppliers should at least make the batteries the same. My panasonic is even of a different shade of black as the rest of my thinkpad! So watch out if they send you a panasonic one and try to negotiate for a sanyo one maybe. Thanks

Layers of electrical tape?

In any case, it doesn't really effect the efficiency of the contact between the battery and the planar...but it just, err, wiggles for the most part. I don't really know why as this little quirk has been present on batteries from the three major manufacturers of Thinkpad batteries, Sanyo, Panasonic, and Sony, since the T4X Series. Unless they do it on purpose, but I can't think why. There are also Sanyos that wiggle like that. :|

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Before I traded asspenny my 9 cell for his 6 i had put a couple of layers of duct tape, I thought it would be better than electrical, it sticks really well, can be removed without any damage and is more coushiony (word?) than electrical tape.
