6-cell battery capacity degradation

#1 Post by Chacal » Fri Aug 27, 2004 3:33 am

Hi all,

I've had my Thinkpad for a couple of weeks now and I'm a bit concerned about my battery. In these two weeks it has lost already almost 10% of its capacity (from 47520 mWh to 41300 mWh). Is this normal or should I be more worried? Could someone tell what kind of capacities you have in your 6-cell batteries and how long you have used them? (You can see the capacities using the batter maximizer)

Thanks. It seems that my battery is more or less normal if it doesn't keep losing its capacity anymore. If it does I need to probably replace it.

I would think that the lost in capacity will level off. If not you have a one year warranty and if it continues, IBM will make it good.
