Fn+f5 doesn't change the wireless mode

#1 Post by kobibn » Tue Oct 24, 2006 2:07 am

Hi,
The wireless adapter appears in the Fn+f5 menu and I have the latest driver installed + Ac4.12
The wireless is always on but in the menu it says off.
What can I do???
All this started when I upgraded the driver to 9.0.4.17 but I can't downgrade it...
HELP!!!

Check which WiFi card you have : you mustn't install Intel ProWireless Drivers if you have a ThinkPad WiFi Card, for instance. I've seen Software Installer get a bit confused when choosing the right driver.
You'd have to unistall the drivers, delete your card in the device manger, then re-install it all :)

I encountered the same incident last time.

Try this:
1. Download the Drivers for your Intel Wireless from the Lenovo site.
2. Thru the Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs, Remove the Intel program there.
3. Install the Driver/Application which you downloaded from Lenovo site.

Hi,
Well, it doesn't help... I tried it before...
I think the main problem is the driver version. 9.0.4.17 It won't allow me to install the previous one!!!

Hmmm, I'm using that version. Fn+F5 seems to be working fine. I have set it to Enable/Disable wiressless. How bout completely removing the Intel Software + Driver.

It's strange, I installed the intel application, the folder in c:/program files/intel/wireless is empty after the installation. aren't there supposed to be any files in there?
