Thinkpad Configuration utility compression & alternative

#1 Post by cure » Tue Oct 24, 2006 11:42 am

The Thinkpad Configuration ultily is a hefty brute but it can be compressed massively without lose of functionality using UPX and a good shell (Jazz recommended) IF the file RESFM12.DLL is skipped.

Is there, however, a truly light weight alternative to this utility?

Thanx,

To be sure, it is a large install file. But today, I download such files directly to my ThinkPad, so size is not so great a consideration. In terms of installation, it consumes 0.00006 percent of my drive, so it isn't taking much room and provides useful functionality when I need it. ... JD Hurst
