(x40) where can i report a bug in the new bios?!

#1 Post by dorin » Tue Oct 24, 2006 2:22 pm

hi there,

so, i updated to the latest bios, 2.07, they said they fixed the change of resolution bug (didnt occure so often, but is always nice to have the latest bios).

the problem: i connect my x40 to the tv via vga cable, the tv supports only 800x600. with the new bios i can't get a proper signal out the vga, at least for the tv. the desktop monitor accepted it with no pb(but it takes up to 1600X...)

patch: i rolled back the bios to the 2.06, no pb, the tv gets a clear signal

question: where can i report this bug? any idea for an eventual solution?

thanks,

dorin

About all you can do is call IBM Help (It's in your documentation somewhere). That's what I do. The person on the phone can only take the information, and you can only hope. ... JD Hurst

What video driver version and EC version are you using, Dorin?

By the way, how old is the television you are trying to connect it to? :)

But she is an IBM.

hi there,

the vide driver is 6.14.10.4497
and the EC is 1.62

so all are fully updated according to software installer and system update.

the tv is about one year old and it accepts only 800x600 as input. it's something in the way the new bios gives signal. i doublechecked it to be 60hz... just dont understand where the problem is.. :banghead:

i ordered a vga to s-video cable so i wait to see the verdict... :)
