2611-412 continuous standby mode problem

#1 Post by Weanuts » Tue Oct 24, 2006 8:51 pm

When I power up my 2611-412 on battery, the battery light comes on, the standby light comes on and the power on light comes on, with no further action, or on ac, battery light does not come on with battery out of unit but the standby light comes on and the power on light comes on. I can here hard drive, cpu fan or combination of both also. I checked cmos battery at three volts removed. I thought I read somewhere that a combination of moves such as on-off trigger 10 times or ?? might tell something. The Fn and F keys don't have any affect. Any suggestions at this time would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

With keyboard out, and cpu exposed, when I power up, the cpu gets extremely hot in seconds. I wonder if that sheds any light on my problem?

thanks again

Dead motherboard. Turn this one into a donor.
