SOUND LIKE TROUGH A TUBE

HI TO ALL.
I PURCHASE AN USED R-40, BUT THE SOUND IS VERY POOR, IT SOUND LIKE HEARING MUSIC TROUGH A TUBE, WY. ???

The speakers aren't all that great. I wouldn't expect nice sound out of any laptop.

You definately can't crank up some metallica on a thinkpad, seems like the older ones sound better, my 600's sound better than my t60. :o

This is not my first lap, somo of others have a spazialaizer 3d like an feature of the sound but this sound like my grand pa pocket am radio, she sound better with headphones

Best laptop speakers I ever heard were on a Compaq N1020v. They had a JBL logo on them. My R40 in comparison, has awful sound. But then, I didn't buy it for the sound. That's what I have a desktop computer for.

One thing I did do to help for music is to adjust the graphic equaliser on Windows Media Player.
