Differences between T20 and T22

#1 Post by jruschme » Wed Oct 25, 2006 11:56 am

A while back, I inherited a pair of T20s, one working, one with the "blink of death". I repaired (upgraded? :-)
the latter by replacing its base with a working T22 base. While setting up the second one, I noticed that the T22 BIOS includes an option for booting from a USB floppy, something that the T20 BIOS does not.

So, I was wondering... what are the differences between the T20 and T22 hardware? Can one successfully flash a T20 with a T22 BIOS? If so, will USB booting work?

Thanks...

Since I just answered this question in another thread nearby...

ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pcinstitu ... awbook.pdf

contains a brief listing of the hardware components of the T2x systems (among others).

That I don't know, nor would I try or recommend without having a backup plan (i.e. another motherboard in case you turn yours into a doorstop).
