Color calibrating LCD - need help

#1 Post by gator » Thu Oct 26, 2006 4:28 pm

I am new to digital phtography - infact I do it just as a hobby. I have been reading a lot about the importance of color calibrating the monitor, and was wondering whether we have any experts who can help me out with it.

I saw a really nice article here, with two browser based tests to see if your monitor is calibrated properly (Test 1 Test 2).

Are there any opensource/freeware utilities for calibration purposes? I am a grad student and I cannot afford a professional s/w for this (esp after having invested most of my savings on the T60:D), but after having run the tests mentioned above, I defintely want to proprely calibrate my lcd. Can someone help?
