I bought a T60 (from a reseller) and it was promptly delivered about 3 weeks ago. I was out of town at the time, so I actually only got it a week ago. The screen was terrible, and the fan never shut off. I called lenovo and they told me to take it to my local IBM service provider.
I did that, and it's been there for a week. I'm told they are waiting to receive parts (a motherboard and screen), and that I will have to wait up to 2 more weeks.
This seems excessive for a brand new notebook. I purchased the notebook because I needed it now: otherwise I would have waited for the Core 2... Is this kind of delay normal, or is there anything else I can do to speed it up?
warranty delays...

Keep calling IBM/Lenovo and ask them about your notebook progress. Eventually they will speed up. This is what i do when they refused to exchange my recalled batteries for me the other day. When i keep on harressing them for more than 3 times a day, finally they give up and changed the batteries for me.
