WILL BUY: Dead/non-working ThinkPad batteries [read]

#1 Post by Dimitri_P » Sat Oct 28, 2006 12:54 pm

If you have a dead, non-working battery

 6 cell, 9 cell, Ultrabay Slim, Ultrabay Enhanced
  • for IBM ThinkPad:
    T40 T40p T41 T41p T42 T42p T43 T43p T60 T60p and/or R50 R51 R52 R60 R61
 4 cell, 8 cell, Extended (attaches to the bottom)
  • for IBM ThinkPad:
    X40 X41 Tablet X60 X60s

:!: I WILL BUY IT :!:

  • Must meet any of these conditions:
    ● the battery status LED will be orange and blink constantly, when battery is inserted
    ● it will not charge, or display any info on it
    ● in Power Manager or Battery Maximizer it will say "ERROR"
Battery has to be genuine IBM part, and not third party, people sell on eBay, that says "Replacemet battery..." on it

you gotta have big cojones to be re-building batteries. I was considering it, but the individual cells cost almost as much as a replacement battery anyways, so I abandoned that.
