I really like this

However I hate to logon to my desktop in that icky default blue color M$ gives you before the Casino Royale theme starts.

For those people that feel the same way, you can change the default logon color (so it is not blue, but black). Here is how you do it:

Change the Windows Logon screen background color

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With no logon wallpaper set, Windows displays a pre-defined color for the logon desktop. ( If you have enabled Welcome Screen, press CTRL+ALT+DEL twice to see the logon screen background color. ) To change the logon background color to that of your choice, you need to alter the registry:

Click Start, Run and type REGEDIT and press Enter

Navigate to the following key:

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Colors

In the right pane, double-click Background

In the Edit String dialog box, type the Color code in R G B format (Type 0 0 0 if you want to see a Black background) and then click OK.

Hi,

As I'm using the classic theme, I want my logon theme to be exactly the same everywhere.

Well, if there is no difficulties for the colors, the metrics are difficult to tweak (particularly the height of the active title bar). I haven't found how to tweak that in the Registry...

Here is how I do :

- I shutdown the Themes service in the Services Console,
- I download TweakUI for XP :

http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... ySetup.exe

- When installed, I run it, and go to "Logon" > "Settings", and I select, on the right, all of the options. Then I click on "Copy now", "Apply" and "OK".

- Restart the computer to see the results.

:)

I found th Royale Noir theme at a different site while looking for a theme to use with my new T20, and I really like it! Funny that it would be popular here, as well.

Here's my current desktop with said theme in place:

The wallpaper I got from DA and modified to my own liking (including adding the ThinkPad logo, of course). If anyone else would like it, here it is:

I use to use the Think Theme all the time, but then IBM/Lenovo dropped it from their site. Glad to see someone is maintaining it. Think Theme + Royale Theme on top is a perfect combination.

Use the black royale theme on other laptops does not look appealing at all. The black royale theme fits and suits all thinkpads.

Looks great on all black laptops.

LOL. This thread will keep running endlessly...

Does anyone have a link for the black icon set for Windows. I've seen it before where the MY Computer icon in a black circle with a thinkpad in it. Would love have that on my computer. Please tell me where I can find them.

It comes default with thinkpads - if you have a factory load, please look at C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Think Theme. If you don't have it, let me know and I'll mail you a copy.

My T21 only came with Windows 2000. I only have a generic copy of xp, so I don't have the ThinkPad theme on my T21.

You could use a program like WindowBlinds, to tweak the W2K appearence...

Depends, of course, of the amount of memory you have on your machine. ;)

Install the 'Tema Think' from this page - it contains the icon set that you are asking for.

Hmmm...I installed this, and my cursors changed. Otherwise, looks GREAT!

EDIT: Some icons (My Computer, My Docs, etc...) changed too...what gives?
Peace,
Ryan
