http://thinkpad-forum.de (German TP forum) offline?

#1 Post by 2647-4EG » Sun Oct 29, 2006 1:32 pm

The German Thinkpad-forum at http://thinkpad-forum.de has been offline for the whole weekend, now.

If anyone knows why, do let me know! And it would be nice if you'd reply, if you're desperately looking for our forum, too.

Tüte, was ist los? Wann geht's weiter?

And last but not least: A big hello to all Thinkpad users worldwide! :D

i just discovered that forum a day or so ago..

i hope it gets back up..
if it will help, i suppose i can establish a german language thinkpads forum but since i don't speak german some german speaking people would need to run the place..

i DID have some german translations on the old webboard forum years ago..
done for me by roland herold of berlin..

regardless, welcome to this thinkpad owners club..

I am also wondering about thinkpad-forum.de. I have searched here very often in the last days if i can find something about a problem or something like that.

The website of mhy favourite music instrument store (the biggest in the world) is also down. I wanted to inform myself about some products and visit it in the next days. When driving arround with my car later, the speaker in the news said something about a music instrument store, which has burned down this morning... One of the biggest music stores... Musik Produktiv! I couldnt belive what i heard! Later i searched the web and found an article out of a local news paper with pictures:

http://www.ivz-online.de/bildergalerien ... p?album=16

Okay, it was just one of tree halls, and noone was hurt but   poor musical instruments in it! I hope that nothing of the unreplaceable things like the original guitar of jimi hendrix are lost. I am watching the pictures again and again, but still i cant believe what happened.

I hope that nothing like this happened to (the server of) our german thinkpad forum!

Also a big hello the thinkpad users on the rest of the world! This forum seems to be very informative, specialy about the T60 (i ordered one last week, my first thinkpad, but i'm still waiting) and about linux.

Something sure is up with http://thinkpad-forum.de/

I used to go there to check out some of the stuff but, for some reason, it simply isn't responding any more. :|

Thanks for your offer, BillMorrow! I still hope that it's just a small glitch which will be fixed as soon as the weekend is over. And hopefully neither a fire nor a natural desaster is the reason...

If it takes more time, I will seek asylum here. And I've been silently reading here before and found your sollution to the "disappearing energy-schemes" problem. It seems that Thinkpad users are quite the same all over the world: a friendly, helpful community with a preference for timeless and robust notebooks.

@krischan: Hi, nice to hear that I'm not the only one from Germany who's been searching here for http://thinkpad-forum.de/! :) Sad story about the fire. It would really be very bad luck if that happened again. At least the forum's main sponsor is still online: http://ok2.de/ . Phew...

We are online again :-)

Our forum has been offline on 28th and 29th of October due to a technical problem of our provider.

On behalf of the German ThinkPad-Forum I want to thank BillMorrow for the support offered to us.

Regards from Bavaria

Hi Christopher,
Sorry; I just did not read your post probably when posting my first reply with the Thinkpads instead of Thinkpad.
:?
andy

P.S. I think we should not go on discussing all this under “ThinkPad News”, the moderator might kick us out otherwise
