Fastest Boot Time

#1 Post by JChrzanowski » Sat Aug 28, 2004 10:30 am

What is the fastest boot times any of you experienced? I have a T40, 1.5, 512, and 40gb and running SP2 and I usually boot everything up (everything loaded) in about 17-18 seconds according to bootvis. Is this good or bad for my computer?

13.8 secs according to Bootvis.
T41P (2373-GGU).

It's very subjective as some will have more things to load than others.

I don't much care how fast a machine boots (so long as it is fully running in 3 or 4 minutes). I care how fast it runs and how well it performs. I have read the posts here, and the main way people are using to shorten the boot times is to eliminate services on boot. I load all the services I need including IBM, Firewall, AntiVirus, Virtual Network Drivers and so on. It takes longer, but everything is ready to go while I am using the machine. And the machine is fast, svelte, smooth and runs at zero CPU unless I am doing something. ... JDHurst
