a2x hard drive covers

#1 Post by leasure98 » Sun Oct 29, 2006 9:26 pm

I was just wondering what the deal was with hard drive covers? I can buy (could have bought) many a20 series laptops on ebay, but all of them say without hard drive caddy/cover. Does anybody have an opinion of why these are so rare? I would have to shell out as much for a cover as I would for a working A20m with a good screen. I'm seriously considering carving one out of wood and painting it black!!
I'm just looking for opinions. Thanks!

For some reason when people remove hard drives prior to selling laptops 'for security reasons', they often keep or destroy the trays and covers, too. Very annoying.

Anyway, perhaps pricing directly from IBM parts isn't bad?

hard drive covers

I just replaced the hard drive cover on my A30P.
It appears to be a fairly fragile part.
My guess is there are many of these computers out there with missing/broken hard drive covers, and therefore sellers can get a premium for them.

Good health, Weogo
