Logitech webcam for Notebooks Pro, difficulties with R40

#1 Post by refrankie » Sat Aug 28, 2004 10:33 am

Hi all, I need your help regarding this annoying sound (a "ping" likesound, the system default sound...)

Here are my specs: IBM R40 notebook, 512ram, 32mb vram, winXP SP1, directx 9b.

Because of this sound, I reinstalled my computer from HPA and with a clean-just-installed windows XP SP1, I installed the new driver, and the "ping" sound shows up again. Then I got crazy and installed my NB again, and then I installed the cam, and the problem still occurs. This problem is very very annoying and it seems that nothing prevents it from happening.

I followed every step to install the cam, even without a antivirus installed. But still doesnt work fine, then I upgraded my XP SP1, and installed the cam and nothing changes, the ping still sounds. :(

Everything else is working just fine, except when shutting down. This sound occurs everytime after I install the driver... including when no camera is plugged.

After no less then 10 times trying and doing the above, now I seek you help PLEASE!

you're using the latest logitech driver??
make sure yo install and THEN plug in the camera.
also there might be something like lvcoms.exe loading with windows startup. you don't need that - might be the source of the problem.

yeah im using the latest, yet it happens in the old one as well. As for Lvcoms.exe, it is not here... but the problem occurs prior to shutdown... I think there is a problem with XPH... because other ppl installed it on XPP on two thinkpads T41 and X31 and it does not occur this issue, however I myself installed it on my x31 and r40 both with XPH, and there comes again...
