WTB light-portable ~ $350. Better ThinkPad, but not have to!

Hello All,
So far I’ve not got luck getting a decent X series.
What I need/want is a portable baby of around $350. I wish it could be a ThinkPad, but it’s hard to get a good one. Therefore, I would like to have all you guys’ opinions on other brands. Small, lightweight, and for simple tasks.

i think you can get a decent x24 for around your budget. i saw a few on ebay
