New HD - recommendations??

Hi guys,

I'm considering getting a 100gb 7200rpm HD for my t42.

any recommendation, regardless of brand?

btw what's difference between E7k100 and 7k100

hopefully a large and fast drive doesn't make too much noise (a quiet laptop IS a priority)

Check the Marketplace brent usually has some great deals on HD's, with many many happy campers here for customers.

Ek7100 is recommended for servers, you don't want that. I just bought a Hitatchi 7k100 for my t60 and it is not noisy at all.

Thanks for the quick respons.

i've already seen the posts at the marketplace on this site. the thing is that I live all the way in Denmark where I can get a 7k100 for around $130 in retail - so that's they're not that expensive here.

all I needed to know was if the hard drive was noisy or not - so thanks, I'm off to the local computer store.

I would recommend a Hitachi 7K100 as well; just got a few in some of our systems and they are as quiet as the 80GB 5400RPM in my T43.
