Clean Desktop on T60 (Windows XP Pro)

#1 Post by csicsi » Tue Oct 31, 2006 7:25 pm

How can I remove from the desktop the "my computer", "my network places", "internet explorer", "my bluetooth places" icons, without endangering or risking any of their associated functions?

I just want them listed/available to open under the program files or displayed on the bottom shortcut toolbar (this latter is easy) -- I need a clean desktop.

Thanks!

The out-of-the-box eye candy set up for XP leaves the first two off the screen. Alternatively, look at Display properties (right click on the Desktop), then select the Desktop tab, then select Customize. You may be able to remove the icons there.

You can turn on and off the display of all icons by right clicking the desktop, going to Arrange Icons By, and unchecking Display Icons.
