Streamlining thinkvantage

#1 Post by seaweedsl » Wed Nov 01, 2006 1:22 am

I saw somewhere a guide for streamlining (removing) some of the thinkvantage that is redundant with XP to speed up the pc and simplify things a little.

I know it's all great stuff, but I would like to read that post or article and see what I can clean up.

I seem to remember one being called the "anti-thinkvantage rant"
Search has not helped.

Any clues on where to find such posts/articles?

Thanks

Hi.

You can accomplish this by (believe it or not) installing another ThinkVantage tool. Its called the Base Software Administrator. You'll find it at this site :
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... TVAN-ADMIN

This application lets you configure the Lenovo preload, and remove/make optional the different pieces of software your machine comes with "out-of-the-box".

PS: It only works on new Lenovo machines

Hope this helps :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
