The screen FLICKERING is back! (w/BIOS ver 2.01)
BIOS version 1.09 solved the very annoying screen flickering problem (external display on Advanced Dock's DVI port). But now with version 2.01, the problem has returned.
Every 10-20 minutes, the external screen (and sometimes the built-in internal display, but not nearly as often) changes resolution to somthing like 640x480, and then back again to the correct 1920x1200. It all happens in about 1/10 of a second, causing a flicker on the display.

Apathy is on the rise, but nobody seems to care.

Sounds almost like what it looks like when the intel GMA900/950 power saving feature that slows down the refresh rate looks like. the screen momentarily flickers, appears to go down to a lower resolution, and then goes back to normal. disabling the refresh rate lowering for longer battery life made this stop.
Check around the power management settings and ATI control panel for something that relates to refresh rate.

Seems like IBM/Lenovo did a complete rewrite of the BIOS including better Vista support, but forgot to add the fix for the flickering LCD issue that they had added from 1.09. Perhaps they just built this BIOS from 1.07 as a refence point?RonS wrote:I have a T60p with the v5200. Previously, BIOS ver 1.09 fixed the problems. Now with 2.01, it's come back. So I don't think it's a software problem, but a firmware problem.
I tried refresh setting in CCC and the problem remains.
At least that's my guess.
Did you ever try BIOS 1.10?
