T60 AC Plug Wiggle

#1 Post by Kyocera » Thu Nov 02, 2006 12:48 pm

Just wondering if ya'lls AC plug wiggles a little bit, mine does. Not bad but just wondering if I did something to it when I tripped on the cord and fell down the other day.

Could you be a little bit more specific as to what and where you are talking about. The plug into the wall? Or the one on the line cord to the adapter box? Or the plug on the end of the adapter box into the ThinkPad? I could assume I know what you're talking about, but it might be something different than what I'm thinking of.

Thanks

yea most (if not all) wiggle, i've seen this posted before

it doesnt really bother me; b/c logically it has no effect on anything.

but some ppl choose to wrap it in electrical tape in the right places so it doesnt giggle

OK, I'm not really going to give it another thought, luckily the machine did not fly off the table when I tripped. :SH!:

The problem i find with that wiggle. I hear about more and more people. Their batteries discharge cause the power flaps between the AC and the DC connectors. The only true fix is to replace the ACIN Connector that is located on the Planner Card (system board)

If ya have onsite which is good to get unless parts are not in stock. Then its a simple affair of repairing the issue.

I do not know if service centers will do the same.

Last option is the mail in service. 3- 5 days if parts are in stock.

I had the same problem with my earlier laptop. It was made from Dell. I finally got sick of it and argued with their tech support to send it into them for a repair and finally got it fixed. Course i had to send it in twice cause they believed a hard driver has a lot to do with a simple ACIN Connector.

Better to get it fixed and save yourself the aggravation.
There are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.
