A31p Recovery Disks
A31p Recovery Disks
So I have these disks that I got from IBM. I have a new HD for the laptop and when I run the recovery CD it will start but doesn't see the HD or anything.
I did a regular install of XP and tried running the CDs, NADA. Am I missing something here?

Could you make me a set of recovery disks for the a31? I could send you something for shipping, etc.

I too could use a copy of recovery disks! However I understand if you don't want to get into being a cd provider! I have tried several times to purchase recovery disks. I am in Canada, and it seems to be a bit of a challenge as I get bounced back between sales and tech support. My most recent call to tech support (at the recommedation of sales) resulted in the tech support fellow telling me the fru part number that I already knew. (01R6024).
If you can help, great, if not, I understand.

Yeah, I'd rather not.
Besides, all I did was make the CD from the tutorial that is posted on here somewhere. Got the i386 files, slipstreamed in some SP2 along with some of the Thinkpad software and made my own disk.
The issue I had was temporary rectal cranial inversion.

A31 Recovery
I was able to get a system up and running and added in IBM support and configuration files. Only issue I have is I have used a COA and disk from a different XP OEM and would like to have the original IBM issued copy of XP so I could use the proper COA. (the IBM COA does not work with the OEM copy I installed).
I wouldn't worry about it if it was for me only, but a volunteer organization I am with has a bunch of A31's with XP COAs but no recovery disks. They would like to build these systems and send them out to charitable organizations with proper licensing installed.
This organization also needs recovery disks for A20s, A22's, and A30's (WIN2K COA's).
