Making a backup image of a Transnote hard drive

I have a transnote with an original image from ibm of Win2000. How can I make a backup of the partitions. It does not have a atapi cdrom. I can hook up a usb cdrom, but it will not boot from a usb cdrom. It will boot from a usb floppy. I am at a loss to figure this one out. Any help would be appreciate.
