battery life question

#1 Post by kaczor47 » Sun Nov 05, 2006 12:36 pm

Questions regarding battery life on a T41 (T41 2378DMU)...

Originally purchased the TP in Sep 2004 (yup, time for an upgrade...), but recently I have noticed a _very_ drastic degradation in battery life. I have two 6cell batteries. Here are the numbers:

battery 1 (original, first use Sept 2004):
Full Charge Capacity 15.07 Wh
Design Capacity 47.52 Wh
Cycle Count 309

battery 2 (bought in April 2005):
Full Charge Capacity 25.91 Wh
Design Capacity 47.52 Wh
Cycle Count 149

My question is whether this is reasonable to have such drop in capacity after the above cycle count? I have attempted to recondition them recently, but not much has changed. I admit I have not been very good about looking after these (use it almost always on AC power, with battery in).

Question 2 is regarding adjusting the charge thresholds. I can't seem to figure out where to make the adjustments? The help file does not give any details on this...

thanks in advance!

For the age of the batteries concerned and number of cycle involved, that's quite reasonable.

Also, on a T41 you basically can't adjust the battery charge thresholds, they are preset.

Cheers,

Bill
