I have been experimenting with sound recording on my x41 tablet (i have a program called Cool Edit Pro and a mixer), but I have run into a problem. When I put my headphones into the headphone jack and the input (from the mixer) into the microphone jack, I cannot hear the sounds from the mixer. However, if i RECORD, and then play it back, I can hear the sounds. I have come to believe that this problem is caused by a lack of "hardware buffering" in this computer, but I have been unable to find any legitimate information as to what this is or what problems it causes. Furthermore, I have set up this same system on a desktop pc with no problem.
If anyone has any information on this problem, hardware/software buffering with respect to sound processing, or the use of the x41 tablet for recording purposes (preferably with actual sound equipment: song construction), I would be very glad to hear it.
