Kill autorun for external hard drive

#1 Post by RUSH2112 » Tue Nov 07, 2006 6:07 pm

I use two external hard drives, hooked up to my ultrabase at home. Every time I get home, I plug in my Thinkpad, and get the auto run search and dialogue for each drive. I could only find a way to disable autorun for cdrom's, is there any way i can disable it all together?

Try Tweak UI, there is a setting for Autoplay for removable drives.

You can also just manually disable the "Shell Hardware Detection" service, which "Provides notifications for AutoPlay hardware events."
