Hey guys,
I was paritioning my HD (60GB) for a linux installation when the partitioning was interrupted. The disk ended up having errors but long story short, using Windows Checkdisk and Norton Partition Magic I was able to correct the errors and have everything working. However, now I notice that it takes an extremely long time for Windows to load after the login screen.
I have an image of my HD sitting on an external USB hard drive from less than a month ago with no major changes made to it since. I would like to restore this image on my HD using Acronis 8.0 (same software image was made with). I run into a problem when I exit Windows and load Acronis' Boot Loader to restore the image (Can't restore the image while Windows is running). The problem I have is that the external USB drive can be seen and the HD image can be selected but when I go to restore that image on a HD, my laptop's HD does not appear on the list of drives to chose from. So essentially Acronis' Boot Loader is not seeing my laptop's internal HD.
Could this be because Acronis' Boot Loader does not have the proper drivers to recognize my x60's HD?
I would really appreciate any help since this is the first time I am restoring an HD image using Acronis.
Question about restoring HD image using Acronis
