T23

#1 Post by itsthinkpadT23 » Fri Nov 10, 2006 10:40 am

I have T23, and problem is that it losses the wireless connection after about 30 to 40 min. It shows me network connection but is not able to connect. If I try to press on repair, then I tend to loss the IBM wireless network connection.
Also I tried removing the wireless card and fixing it again. It did work for while.
can anyone help me with it.

Thanks

1. Happens only on certain locations? Like an internet cafe, or only at home?
2. Happens only when you use certain software, like a bittorrent client?
3. Are you using the stock ActionTec wi-fi/modem combo card, or have you upgraded?

I had a similar problem and figured it is a miscommunication issue between my router and the ActionTec card. While trying to flash the firmware on the card, I fried it (I know, I know...sigh). The problem was disconnections every ten minutes while using torrent clients (on a beautifully configured NAT/router).

If you haven't solved this problem already, give us some more info and we'll get down to the bottom of it. At least without frying your card.

regards.

I have formatted hard drive and installed XP2 with all the updates. Also I have all the drivers that are available on the website that you gave me.

Also I hvae latest BIOS version, but still I am not able to connect to wireless.
Now it is possible to connect to internate with wire. If I go to Wireless Lan Config. I get state as Unable to connect with device driver.

In device manager under Network adapter - IBM high rate Wireless LAN miniPCI combo card- get same message for status.

Details under driver are as
Driver Provider : Actiontec
Driver Date : 9/23/2002
Driver version : 2.0.9.0.

Please let me know how problem can be fixed.
