SODIMM module (for T42p) different type in Japan?

#1 Post by carl_lyn » Mon Nov 13, 2006 10:13 am

Hi all.

I am the proud owner of a Thinkpad 42p 2373 HTG (bought in Denmark)

I will like to upgrade memory with 1GB (PC2700, SODIMM).
Now, the problem is that I am at this moment living i Tokyo, Japan. Do any of you know if the ram modules are different i Japan (Asia) compared to European SODIMM modules?
I have heard rumours about this here in japan but cannot find any confirmation - and in the electronic stores they dont speak that well english unfortunately.

I was thinking of buying BUFFALO DN333-A1G (1GB, PC2700 200Pin S.O.DIMM), and for example this is not available in europe...

So please comment if you know anything on this,
also comments on other good ram module for T42p is appreciated...?

Thanks in advanced!

So-dimms in Japan are exactly the same as elsewhere.
According to Buffalo's compatibity list, DN333-A1G is compatible with T42p. So, there should be no problem.

Thank you for your response.

Do you have link for the compatibility list?

Here is one of the T42p pages:
http://buffalo.jp/search/pcnew/index.ph ... etail=true

They don't list -HTG specifically, but the DN333-A1G is listed for all the T42p models they do show.
