T42 EXCHANGE

#1 Post by jordi32 » Mon Aug 30, 2004 10:52 pm

Does anyone know how exchanges work? After waiting for over 10 days, my computer has finally made it back to IBM. I was wondering if IBM will be creating a new order number and if I can track it on the internet. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Also, I was wondering how long you need to wait to talk to an IBM customer service representative. I usually take over half an hour to 45 minutes to get through to one. How come some Customer service representatives have an extension number where they can be reached but others don't?

Another question: Has anyone had IBM charge their card for a purchase you didn't make? IBM charged me for a DVD burner I never purchased and told me I had to dispute the charges with my bank. It has been over one month and there is still no resolution and my account has not been credited (my debit card got charged).

Thank you for your input.

Best regards,
Jordi

Have you talked to your bank? If so what did they say. Credit cards usually require a dispute in writing and I would imagine the bank would require the same for a debit card... though I never use a debit card for online purchases.

I already disputed it in writing. It has already been over a month!!! They say the resolution is still pending.

Best regards,

Jordi

Did you use a credit card or a debit card? With a credit card, there should be no problem - you dispute the charge by phone and the bank issues a conditional credit (they send you a form for the details and then it's up to the vendor to justify the charges). If you used a debit card, you're basically at the mercy of the vendor issuing you a credit. The banks are usually no help - t's basically a cash transaction.
