A20m-Changing the temp. for fan to come on

#1 Post by spuddog » Wed Nov 15, 2006 11:09 am

Like the title says, I would like to change the temperature at which the fan comes on. At the present time (at 100% load) the CPU temp goes up to 70-74C for a few minutes then the fan starts. The temp with the fan running goes down to ~58C (still at 100%). When the load goes down the fan shuts off at ~50C. I replaced the original heatsink fan assy with FRU 04P3483 from an A22, but it still does the same thing. Any Ideas on how to lower the set point for the fan?

Thanks
Scott

Did you apply any thermal paste to the processor when you replaced the heatsink? If the A20M has similar architecture to the T20-22, you can't run tpfancontrol.

You can try it to see if it lets you adjust values.

Thanks for the reply, I've been out of town so I couldn't respond sooner. I did put thermal paste on. I will investigate the thread you suggested and post the results, it may be a week or two.

Thank
Scott
