funny sound up problem

My T40 has a button for sound up,down and sound off/on

Sometimes the sound up does not work.
It happend again today.
I restarted the computer 3 times and still sound up did not work.
If i use sound icon on start line i can pull the cursor up and down, but there is anyway no sound on the T40

2 hours later I start my T40 and all 3 sound buttons work????

The only program I have used this day is powerdvd and internet explorer.

2 items, sound and the volume up/down, are behaving erratically.

you can uninstall the sound and ibm hotkeys, re-start the computer, reinstall sound and hotkeys, then re-start again.

use the thinkpad software installer to uninstall then reinstall,

or you can find the sound and ibm hotkeys sofware in c:\ibmtools\drivers\audio and c:\ibmtools\drivers\hotkey to reinstall. in both directories, there's a setup executable program.
