T60 VGA output mirror or extended desktop?

Can I configure the VGA to output either of these or
does only one option work? I´m thinking of Intel GMA.

You can choose either one or the other, depending on your mood that day. Press Fn+F7 for the dialog box that allows you to choose. Your external monitor must be plugged in, of course.

For the integrated GMA graphics subsystem, I uninstall Presentation director, and just use the Intel GMA utility. It can configure the system to do a "clone" of the LCD display on the T60, or do an extended desktop configuration.

For the discrete ATI graphics models, use Presentation Director
