IE goes to blank page before closing

#1 Post by allen » Thu Nov 16, 2006 2:04 am

does everyone get this?
every time i close an IE window or tab, IE has to load the blank page before closing. this happened in IE 6 and now in 7.

and you would think loading a blank page doesnt take any time, but it slows everything down quite a bit. why can't the window or tab just close the way windows explorer just closes?

also, which i think is related, if i have my sounds set to play that click at the start of a navigation, it makes that noise when i close an IE window as well

is there something wrong with my registry somewhere? i have a feeling this doesnt happen on everyone's system, and maybe advanced system operator software has messed something up.

any help or thoughts???
thanks!

My good man, have you get the update of the latest IE7 from windows automatic update?

if I might suggest, you should look into other we browser? rather than
be confused and annoyed with IE7.

small pun IE7.s.h.*.7, don't be offended.

thanks for trying, i actually really like IE. mostly because i use hotmail, and as far as i've seen, when you use these things with a pc, it's the easiest way to attach multiple attachments in an email, which i tend to attach lots. i can right click a file in windows explorer, and choose send to mail recipient. and it attaches, and then i can drag as many files in as i want in one easy move. much easier than clicking browse for each individual attachment.

well, i dont know, you tell me. by email client do you mean an email software? like outlook or one of those? i usually try to keep the amount of software installed to a minimum, and, never took the time to figure out one of those programs.
are they really that much better to use? which one?
part of the reason was i never used one was that i wanted to be used to checking email on other computers, like at internet cafes in other countries... maybe once i actually get a thinkpad i wont have to think about that.
thanks.
