WXGA on T42p (FireGL-T2) possible with software update?

#1 Post by hami » Thu Nov 16, 2006 6:39 am

Hi!

Is it possible to switch a 4:3 display to a 16:9 mode using the FireGL-T2?

I hope that there is a software available to switch the solution when using an external 16:9 beamer or plasma both on second display and on main notebook display to see how a presentation would look on a 16:9 display.

Any suggests?

Greetings,

Thomas

Have you already tried to do it, or are you just prospecting?
Because on my T43, with a X300, I can plug a 20" 16:10 screen and use 1680*1050 without any problem.

The only thing I did was to plug the screen, use Fn+F7 to launch Presentation Director, and create a new profile using the external monitor I had just plugged: the Wide resolution was automatically proposed in the resolution combo box.

I know ATI cards where I can switch to WXGA using a 4:3 screen using black bars so there is the possibility without having a 16:9 display. With my T42P this possibility is not given as far as I can see.

I´m neither able to switch my first display to 16:9 nor my secondary one.

Any idea?
