L2300 -> L2400

#1 Post by copo » Sat Nov 18, 2006 7:11 am

Hi there,

Long story....I finally got my X60s today after months of unhappy time with my MacBook w/random shutdown feature.

My X60s, which was ordered as L2300 (1.5GHz), and the label printer on the box state it is L2300, but when I use CPU-Z and look into "My Computer">Properties, it says it is a L2400 instead running at 1.66GHz.

Does anyone here got the same experience ? Or if this is some kind of software problem ?

I'll try to tell my story of my MacBook switch soon.

I have notice the LCD screen is not as good as my brother's X60, the color on the LCD of X60 seems to be better than that on my X60s, like some kind of filter on it, I know that the LCD on the X60s is lighter than that on X60, is this a quality drawback ?

should be the same.
X60s is lighter because it's using LV cpu, and aluminium fan and x60 is using copper fan.

Do you guys think X60S is sort of noisy at the upper-right corner?

As to your question, I think you should call Lenovo in case they might void your warranty because of this. Otherwise, L2400 is better than L2300 and you should be happy.
currently own X61S, T42, X31, Macbook Pro Unibody i5

bigtiger,
Lenovo won't void your warranty anyway, because the receipt is hold on the hand, as long as they didn't spot any physical changes in hardware by visual inspection.
well, for my X60s , i didn't hear any noise coming out from the upper right...

The HD is in the upper right corner. Are you hearing seek noise that correlates with the HD indicator light, or a constant sound?
