T60/60p video card/Windows Vista?

#1 Post by psands » Sat Nov 18, 2006 11:33 am

You all seem the most knowledgeable about Thinkpads, so ...

I am interested in upgrading my T41 to a T60 or T60p.

The Lenovo site suggests that the graphics cards in either flavor of T60 only show 24 bits per pixel. Windows Vista says you need 32 for the full Vista experience.

Does anyone know if either the T60 or 60P actually show 32 bits per pixel at the max resolution?

(I don't even know if I will upgrade to Vista--my question is more about whether a new Thinkpad will give me the option and not be obsolete too soon.)

Any OTHER thoughts on whether to go with T60 or T60P also cheerily welcomed ...

Thanks.

Well my 2613 claims to support 32 bits and Vista shows it as supporting 32 bits. 24 bits is NOT an option on my T60p under Vista or Windows Media center 2005, for what that maybe worth.

Yeah, it's 32 bits...it's complicated (why they say 24)...but yeah it's 32 bits.
