Wireless problem with my T42

#1 Post by ace34608 » Sat Nov 18, 2006 9:59 pm

I would like to disable my IBM wireless utility and only use the Windows wireless utility because the IBM wireless is somehow responsible for removing the check mark from the box that controls "Use windows to configure my wireless network settings" under properties for Wireless Networks. When this happens, which is virtually every time I start up my computer, it doesn't automatically connect and I have to go back into the properties each time and re-check the box that says, "Use windows to configure my wireless network settings." So, any suggestions on how to disable the IBM wireless utility? Every time I think I've found a way to disengage it, it shuts down both the windows as well as the IBM wireless. Help!!!

Please excuse my lack of knowledge regarding this but if I uninstall it (and I do know how to do that), how do I get it back should I decide I wanted it back?

Use the Software Updater or System Updater 2; if it detects you don't have it, say after you uninstalled it, it will download an installer package for it that you can keep around and install from should you want to later on.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Many thanks for your comments. Again, please forgive my ignorance but where do I go to find the "Software Updater" or the "System Updater 2" that you referenced?
