I am assuming that this is a wireless card, but can you give more info such as a part number, and possibly a better description.

is it a thinkoad oart..?
does it have an FRU number..??

i don't want to rain on your parade BUT if it is NOT a thinkpad part then there might be a problem with it working in a thinkpad..

AR5212A indicates that it's an Atheros a/b/g card...I have one of these in my T40 and it needed the no-1802 hack.

Will this work in an X30? Mine doesn't have internal antennae...

Looks like the 1802 workaround isn't too big a deal, very interested..a

Without an internal antenna you are going to need to be within 10ft of the base station.

I have a set of generic antennas if you want them ($5) and I'm local to you. They should connect to the card just fine (universal connector) and if you don't want to deal with putting them in the LCD housing where the normally go I've found you can string them under the keyboard and still get pretty good reception.
