Vista RTM Verizon WWAN working?

#1 Post by dfumento » Mon Nov 20, 2006 5:27 pm

Does anyone have WWAN working with the built-in Verizon WWAN or other built-in WWAN with the Vista RTM?

TIA

I've actually succeeded in installing the Sierra Wireless drivers for my MC8765 (Cingular) card, but I can't even get the radio to turn on... I'll keep trying and post if I manage to get it working.

Can you get it to work with the Windows Mobility Center (Windows key - X)? Or does this only turn on the WiFi?

I installed the Sierra Wireless 3G Watcher program for my AirCard 860, and it works fine with Vista beta. I do not have RTM to test.

GomJabbar, that makes sense. Sierra Wireless does have good Vista support, but they don't officially provide direct support for their MiniPCI cards to consumers (that's supposed to go through Lenovo). We'll either have to wait for Lenovo's software (due HOPEFULLY by the end of this month), or try to hack their publically available drivers to work with the MiniPCI cards.

I've seen on the Cingular forum that Sierra Wireless 3G Watcher program worked with Vista RC1, but is not working with RTM. Supposedly Sierra Wireless is working on it.
