3GB RAM = 2 x 2GB DIMM is FASTER than 1GB + 2GB DIMM ?
3GB RAM = 2 x 2GB DIMM is FASTER than 1GB + 2GB DIMM ?
Now I know, because a HW limitation in the X60 even with x64 OS I will not be able to use more than 3GB of RAM, so I would like to know if my current configuration 4GB = 2 x 2GB DIMM => 3GB, is faster than (because the Dual Channel Configuration) to have 1GB + 2GB => 3GB ?, or it is better to just sell the 2GB DIMM and use the 1GB + 3GB configuration ?, thanks

If the 2x2GB SODIMMs are identical, then your computer should operate dual-channel and acheive twice the memory bandwidth of single-channel operation.
With 2GB+1GB you will assuredly be operating in single-channel mode.
Whether or not you'll be able to tell the difference, well it depends on exactly what you use your computer for. One way to test it out without spending any money is to just pull out one of your 2GB modules. Then you'll be operating in single channel mode, and you can decide if it's too slow. Of course, you'll also have 1GB less RAM, so it won't be a completely fair test.
