Help figuring out model

#1 Post by rgrossha » Wed Sep 01, 2004 9:04 pm

If the following exists, I'm too dumb to find it:

T42 - 15" Flexview / SXGA / 60gb drive, 745 / 755 processor / bluetooth / a/b/g wifi

If I'm right, and such a thing doesn't exist, can anybody suggest closest model? Big screen/flexview, but not 1600 x 1200 resolution is probably the first priority.

Second priority is fast processor.

Thanks,

Rob

I think you're better off buying what is offered if you can't find it and then just pay for the upgrades you want.

The 2373CYU is almost as you describe except it has the 80gb 5400rpm drive. It has the Pentium M 745 and the DVD-R Multi-Burner.

The 2379DXU/2378DXU is also almost as you describe except it has 802.11b/g but no 802.11a. It has the Pentium M 735 and the CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive.

Hope that helps.

Rob,

Use the tabook to find your model.

I'd looked at the tabbook, realized it should be there, but somehow wasn't finding it - which is why I felt so dumb.

Any speculation as to if / when IBM might do a T42 with the fastest processor, but with the lower resolution 15" screen (i.e. less good video subsystem)?

Also, every time I specify bluetooth in the IBM configuration facility, I'm being told that the part is no longer available, but the part is still listed as part of the configuration. Any suggestions?

Rob
