Fan never turns off - temp issues?

#1 Post by Mortdk » Wed Nov 22, 2006 11:30 am

Hey folks,

I've had my T60 for about 2 months, and I have noticed the fan never turns off if it's connected to AC power.
It usually sits in the docking station, and NHC is showing temps bewteen 55 and 75c, occasionally it peaks at +80.

I've also noticed NHC is very quick at detecting temp changes.. 59 to 73c in a split second. How reliable is the temp mechanism?

When it's running on battery, the fan will slow, and on rare occasions turns off momentarily, then back on, and will stay on.

Is this a T60 that's going back for repairs?

It's more likely there's bad interface with the heatsink and your CPU. If it's very annoying, send the laptop for repair
