I woke up at 6am, got to Fry's at 7am and then made a mad dash to the gaming section where I managed to purchase one of the 40 copies of UT3 at FULL PRICE!!!
I then hit the check out line quickly (which wrapped around the whole store 2 times) and waited 2 hours before leaving!
I really felt the Black Friday spirit.

I bought an FM transmitter for my iPhone (which I will be returning since it was 25% less on Amazon lol...), a cheap photo printer (4x6), and a cheap GPS.
If you read this thread from the start, you'll know that I was gung-ho about BF last year...This year was an insult to my bargain finding mind!

Haha...depending on how the sentence is read (ie. my way, or how everyone else in the world would read it)...
"The PlayStation 3 will only be on the 46" HDTV in the living room since none of our TV's have HDMI and the living room TV is the only one with the surround sound system."
What I conclude:
It sounds like you're disappointed that it'll only be on the one TV.
It's only on the HDTV because it has surround sound connected to it.
It could be read as "The PlayStation 3 will only be on the 46"..." implying that 46" is small.
Again, it's just the way my mind works.
PTI!!

Aw yes I see now. Well, the kitchen TV is a HDTV but its smaller... 19" Samsung that only has DVI like the living room TV. The living room has the 5.1 Surround Sound though so I can have sound that way as it has DVI. Yes, 46" is way to small. The one in my room is a crummy SDTV... its a 15: LCD which is nice for TV I guess...

P.S., DO NOT under any circumstances play any hand held game console while waiting outside.....brr

Got a Cen-Tech infrared thermometer at Harbor Frieght for $19.99. Walked in at 4:00 PM and got the last one off the shelf. Used the coupon that was sent to my iPhone.

Re: Did you buy anything on Black Friday?
It didn't have to be a bother, because many online stores had great Black Friday sales. I bought my 32GB microSDHC card from SanDisk's web site. No sales tax, shipping was free, and the purchase didn't cost me any gas.RealBlackStuff wrote:Couldn't be bothered.

Re: Did you buy anything on Black Friday?
The way Amazon is going lately, they are cheaper with their normal prices than a lot of other shops with Black Friday special offers!
About 2 weeks days ago I bought a 22" LG 22LE5300 LED HDTV for $316.- incl. free shipping from Amazon.
(They have come down about $10.- since).
I didn't see any of these in the BF offerings anywhere!

Re: Did you buy anything on Black Friday?
Not that I was looking for it specifically but at Targets I came across a WD Elements 2TB external USB drive for 70 dollars, and by adding another 30 dollars worth of "stuff", it also got me a 10 dollar gift card. I compared prices online before purchasing and it looks like it was a pretty good deal!
Now there's no excuse for backing up all of those digital pictures scattered across multiple drives!

Re: Did you buy anything on Black Friday?
My lunatic daughter persuaded me to take her to the Great Mall in Milpitas, CA at midnight! She wanted to go to Gamestop for a special deal on a PSP. She ended up getting a new one at the price they advertised for used units. The place was a zoo and a half.
I didn't buy anything that trip, but I did go to Fry's late in the day. All the juicy specials were sold out, but I got the Corel Paint Shop Pro X3 I wanted. $0 after mail in rebates. Fry's had a 2T USB hard drive on sale for $68, but I'm sure those were gone by 8 AM...
How can you have a one-day sale three days in a row?

I also hit up Harbor Freightbillp117 wrote:Got a Cen-Tech infrared thermometer at Harbor Frieght for $19.99. Walked in at 4:00 PM and got the last one off the shelf. Used the coupon that was sent to my iPhone.
Bought myself a 3/8" clicker torque wrench ($12), a cheapo socket/ratchet set ($10, really not a screamin' deal, but nicely packaged in a carry case, good for a quick junkyard run), and a 1/2" breaker bar ($7), which I promptly put to work getting a hub/bearing assembly from the Pick'n'Pull (at full price, ~$17). I can finally hear myself think at over 20mph with the "new" bearing replacing the old worn one.
I should have bought the little socket clip rails (.99 each) but I figured the socket set would be of better quality. Should have seen it coming, it was from Harbor Freight after all..

Re: Did you buy anything on Black Friday?
I'd rather buy such items from (Craftsman) Sears, than waste money on that inferior junk in Harbor Freight...

Re: Did you buy anything on Black Friday?
That would be ideal, but I'm on a student budget here.
Someday, when I become a real person and all my Harbor Freight tools break, I'll get Craftsman tools. Until then, though, I've never had anything from HF break on me...but nor have I ever had an HF tools with moving parts, so I suspect the ratchets will be a short-lived affair, but I hear the torque wrenches are actually decent tools.

Re: Did you buy anything on Black Friday?
I've bought quite a few items at HF, and they have lasted well for me. It all depends on how often you use them. If you use them every single day, in a professional capacity, you need something better than either HF or Sears offer. If you use them rarely, why spend more? I use my mechanics tools pretty often. I have some high quality items, some medium. The 12-ton press I bought from HF has been one of the best tools I ever bought. At 12 tons, it has its limits, tho. My engine stand, engine hoist and the press all came from HF. I also bought some items at Post Tool, which seems to be dead and gone. My torque wrench is higher quality, as I need a 1/2" one that can torque in both directions. Not all of them can do that.

Re: Did you buy anything on Black Friday?
Found some good deals on Amazon for the family and friends. I have a budget of $100 and am doing very well so far
I did not venture out into the madness of long lines and cold morning weather this year! No thank you
Instead my deals are free two-day shipping and decent prices all from the comfort of home. Now I just need to find a hiding place for the items!
As for buying something for myself.....well I'm moving in January so I have to keep my purse strings tight. I may get me a DVD set of Grey's Anatomy 6th season if it is available for cheap somewhere
Now back to my term paper
