error 2010 The drive is not qualified

My friend has a T43 and I have a T40.
he does not use all is HD space. I do on my T40

So we have changed HD drive.

But when my 30 GB T40 drive is in the T43 it starts up with error 2010 and that the drive is not qualified or need newer firmware.

can newer firmware do that?
or can the T40-2373 drive not be used i a T43 1872-b86?

Oh yes I can see.
But it seems that it depends on drive type a.s.o.
And I have to be careful, because the drive can be damaged.

But my drive IS from IBM
My drive is only 30GB
My drive is from a T40 and is put into a T43.

The t43 had a 80 GB drive thats now in my. T40 Working fine.

I will try a IBM bios update first if no one has a bether idea???

I have updated the T43 with the IBM software installer.
When I came to update the embedded controller program it just hang with the picture with:

System will turn off when finished
It may take about 30 sek.

After 10 min. with nothing happening i close it.

try again and the same happens.
Close it down again.

But after this update (without the embedded controller) I still get error 2010 on the disk that comes from a T40.

the T40 disk thats now is in my T43 is a Fujitsu 30 GB with IBM P/N 08K9807
fujitsu model: MHS2030AT
part CAO6272-B853000B
Ser NLA2T3614ELW date 2003-06

I have tried to download the iso file that chekls drive firmware and burned it.
But when i boot i get error 4 on booting.
maybe i don't know how to burn a boot dvd with Nero.

Any good ideas?????
