No serialnumber??

I got my mainboard replaced in my T43.
Now, there is no serial number in the BIOS, and when I check Lenovos site for the warranty automatic check, it says "Our apologies, no warranty information found bla bla bla".

Why isn't there a serial number?

Because whoever replaced the board did not put the serial number into the bios. A special program is needed to edit the serial number.

You need the Hardware Maintenance Diskette. IBM/Lenovo only allows business partners to download it from their site. Maybe someone that has it will send you a copy. Alternatively you can take it to an IBM/Lenovo service center and have them enter it for you.

Don't even know where the place is, I have the on-site warranty, so he replaced it at my house.
Is that diskette stuff worth trying out myself or shall I just give lenovo a call?

If you have an onsite warranty and he replaced it at your house, then he should come back to complete the job. I would give Lenovo a call and complain about it.
