X60 freeze
X60 freeze
I am using a 5 in 1 PC data card (see: www.swisscom-mobile.ch).
This PC card is very well working in my X31. Using this card in the X60 the TP freeze during I am using IE or Firefox.
Repair center of Lenovo changed whole the stuff in the X60 from RAM to motherboard to the harddisk.
The same story: Freezing sometimes after 1 minute, sometimes after 10 minutes.
Any idea?
Thomy

kthch, I had a similar experience...
X60 froze, out of the blue within Windows
The first time it happened (within Windows), I let the machine power itself down when the battery drained out (wouldn't power down when I pressed Power)
Second time, same thing happened (or though a much shorter time, after login). Again I had no choice but to let itself power down.
Wouldn't power on after the third time and on... whether AC or battery.
Bought it in for repairs and got the motherboard replaced.
I didn't get an explanation on what happened. I knew it wasn't something I've installed or done, as I haven't used it much...
There was a burnt smell around the right palm rest, where the direction keys are...
1706AH8
BIOS: 1.11

x60s freezing
Now the x60s is the seconde time at the repair center. I am very happy that they were able to reproduce the freezing. They tried the PC card in several other x60s. Card is working very fine. Now the motherboard should be replaced again, but motherboards are not available yet. So I have to wait, ...
Any idea how long I have to wait till they will give to me a NEW x60s?

gunston,
yeah... didn't get my wireless card replace, but that was fine.
I think my issue wasn't related to the wireless card... I suspect it was something on the motherboard, around the right palm (thus the burnt smell)
But Lenovo didn't bother telling me what happened... said my machine is under warranty and replaced the system board.
My problem now is the Security Chip... I must've screwed up the settings. Now I just turn the thing off entirely...
