V5200 Performance and Compatibility

#1 Post by cxls » Sat Nov 25, 2006 5:32 pm

I have a T60p 2623-DDU with the FireGL V5200 and I've been having some serious compatibility issues with it. The game Armadillo Run 1.0.1 only runs when I set compatibility to 256 colors, no visual themes, and a tiny resolution. TrackmaniaNations begins to run if I set the same compatibility mode options, but then it blue screens. Without those compatibility settings, it just blue screens immediately upon launch.

I have the latest drivers from 9/13. Does anyone else have similar issues and/or resolutions? I thought the V5200 was supposed to be based on the X1600 and would run things the same way or similarly.

Hmm seems to that the latest drivers would be .293.1-060913a-036475C with a Release Date: 2006/10/24

That's actually the version number I have, so I guess it's the same. I believe the driver date is different from the date on the page.

I uninstalled all video drivers and reinstalled that package. It actually is dated 9/13, strangely. Anyway, the blue screen problem still exists. :S
