If you looking for a good deal on an x41, Lenovo outlet is having the x41 for 799 with free shipping. I missed my X40 too much so I went ahead and ordered the x41. :D

What a coincidence! I just learned about this very excellent deal two minutes ago and was about start a new thread about it. The memory is only 256MB though, so one will definitely need to put in up to $90 more to upgrade. It also doesn't have wireless.

I have 3 Intel ABG wireless cards on the way this week (IBM firmware, so no BIOS errors).

If anyone buys one of these and needs a card, PM me.

saw the deal one day ago. These things depreciate so fast.

No wifi card is a big drawback as dedicated card is expensive. Even some IBM cards are not compatible. I have one card from a T42 machine and it does work. Interestingly, the card from an 24 works on it.
currently own X61S, T42, X31, Macbook Pro Unibody i5

MiniPCI a/b/g wireless cards can be had for under $50. If you don't mind b-only (fine for Internet browsing) they are nearing "free". :) And the no-1802 fix works well should you pick up a non-IBM-approved card.

Yep, and I feel very lucky that I managed to sell my X40 so quickly several days ago. Bigtiger, you should consider posting your X41 on the Boston Craigslist site. I sold both my Toshiba Portege R100 and X40 through that site (I had to take the commuter rail to Boston to sell them, but I wanted to visit some friends in Cambridge anyway). I also advertised on the Rhode Island site but only got lowball offers.

Thanks. That is a good idea. My wife is currently using it as I sold her X31. I guess I should seriously sold it as my wife now does not like the keyboard on X41.
